The complaints were targeted at Brean Sands Pontins in Burnham-on-Sea. Due to the coronavirus, the popularity of “staycations” in the UK has exploded this summer.
Bridget Jenny, a 50-year-old supermarket worker, stayed at Brean Sands Pontins with two friends.
Arriving for their three-night stay, the party was shocked at the condition of their chalet.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror Ms Jenny said: “A lot of people on the Facebook group recommend taking cleaning stuff, but you shouldn’t have to do that.
“They [Pontins] rely on people cleaning it.
“I’d say it would take me a whole day to clean it. I didn’t want to touch anything.
“We went in and it had cobwebs in the windows and the beds were about 50 years old.
“There was no way I was staying on that bed.”
Ms Jenny said her party was so disgusted at the chalet’s condition they ended up leaving, and instead stayed at a Premier Inn.

“I feel sorry for other families that have to stay there and how disappointed they must feel.”
Laura Griffin, another guest, also hit out at her Pontins experience.
She advised other holidaymakers to “take all your cleaning bits, broom and mop as (my chalet) was minging and only had a dustpan with no brush”.
However Ashley Standage was much more positive, describing the experience as “great for the money paid”.
Despite having to move from the first chalet, which was filled with flying ants, she recommended the holiday.
Ms Standage commented: “Everyone we met was super friendly and my daughter Erin made some lovely friends.
“I think it’s great for the money paid, kids have had an absolute blast.
“I just wish they would take a bit of time to tidy round the outdoor areas a bit.”
