Cheshire is known to be a hotspot of big cat sightings, with a group set up specifically to track the reported sightings. Puma Watch North Wales has been keeping a close eye out for the elusive creatures and raises awareness of all suspected sightings of big cats.
The most recent reported sighting occurred in Chester FC’s Deva Stadium on Tuesday.
Matty Rodgers claimed that he noticed a “massive” animal that was “clearly a big cat”.
The “jet black” creature was “skulking” behind the building site.
Mr Rodgers reported his sighting to the Puma Watch North Wales.

“It skulked along like it was watching something behind the stand, moving slowly but with movement that was undoubtedly a cat.
“It was only in the open between the building site and the stand for about five or 10 seconds but I am certain of what I saw.
“I was tempted to run across the car park and see if I could spot it again but it’s probably for the best I just walked home as it was massive although I guess it wouldn’t have let me get closer anyway, unless I accidentally cornered it, but f*** that it was massive.”
This encounter is just the latest of reported mysterious big cats in the area.
Over the past few months sightings of “growling and snarling” big cats have been reported in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Warrington and Frodsham.
