According to the Daily Mail, more than 100 local councils have already pledged to help in the UK effort to rehome people fleeing Afghanistan amid the Taliban takeover.
Some of the first refugees to have come to England in recent days have arrived in West Yorkshire, Melton, Portsmouth and Surrey Heath, according to reports.
Some of the councils which have already committed to helping refugees include Birmingham, Ashford, Surrey Heath and Elmbridge, Manchester, Liverpool, Wirral, London, Newcastle, Colchester and Wiltshire.
The mayors of Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire and the Liverpool and Sheffield city regions have already declared they will welcome Afghan refugees.
